From
₹1,165.00
3M Fire Barrier Sealant IC 15WB+ is a one-part, gun-grade, water-based intumescent sealant that seals through-penetrations and construction joints against fire, smoke and noxious gases. It expands when heated to keep the seal intact as penetrants burn away, helps reduce sound transfer, and cleans up with water. Firestop tested for up to 3 hours in listed systems.

Why Choose 3M Fire Barrier Sealant IC 15WB+?
- Intumescent seal up to 3 hours: Firestop tested for through-penetration applications for up to 3 hours (ASTM E 814 / UL 1479 and CAN/ULC S115), expanding on heating to keep openings sealed.
- Fire, smoke and sound: Seals against fire, smoke and noxious gases, with an STC rating of up to 54 in an STC 54 rated wall.
- Listed as CPVC compatible: 3M lists IC 15WB+ as CPVC compatible, which suits plumbing and sprinkler pipework (still check the CPVC manufacturer's list).
- Easy to apply and clean: Water-based, sag-resistant, with an excellent caulk rate and water clean-up. It can be painted once dry.
- Re-enterable: Can be repaired if services change, forming a monolithic seal when dry.
Applications
- Pipe and Cable Penetrations: Through-penetration firestop systems for pipes, cables, cable trays, insulated pipe, busways and HVAC ducts.
- Plastic and CPVC Pipework: Penetrations by plastic pipe, where intumescent action closes the opening as the pipe burns away.
- Static Construction Joints: Joint systems tested to ASTM E 1966 / UL 2079.
- Acoustic Sealing: Sealing gaps in partitions where sound transfer must be limited.
How to Use
Step 1: Check the Listed System — Pick the listed UL, Intertek or FM system that matches your wall or floor, penetrant and rating; it sets the sealant depth and backing.
Step 2: Prepare the Opening — Clean surfaces so they are dry and frost free, and install the backing material (such as mineral wool) to the depth the system calls for.
Step 3: Apply — Gun the sealant into the opening using conventional caulking equipment, filling to the depth specified.
Step 4: Tool and Clean Up — Tool the surface smooth and clean tools with water straight away.
Step 5: Let It Dry — Allow it to dry before painting. Keep rain and water spray off while it dries and don't apply to wet or frost-coated surfaces.
