How to Use
Step 1: Substrate Testing — Test tape adhesion on the actual project substrates before full-scale application; 3M recommends technical review for structural glazing projects.
Step 2: Surface Preparation — Clean both bonding surfaces with a 70:30 isopropyl alcohol/water mix so they're free of dust, oil and grease.
Step 3: Apply — Apply the tape by hand or applicator, handling it by the edges only.
Step 4: Apply Pressure — Apply firm pressure of at least 15 psi (100 kPa) using a roller to ensure full contact.
Step 5: Mind the Temperature — Apply at a minimum of 60°F (16°C); avoid application in cold or damp conditions.
Step 6: Allow Wet-Out — Bond strength builds progressively: about 50% in 20 minutes, 90% in 24 hours, and full strength by 72 hours.
