It is the industry standard for preventing tape failure on challenging materials. Unlike simple cleaners, this is a solvent-based primer that leaves a polymer layer on the surface to lock in the adhesive. It is particularly essential for critical applications where failure is not an option—such as mounting exterior car trim or bonding heavy panels. It dries quickly (in minutes) and works on a massive range of substrates,

• Automotive: Promoting adhesion for vinyl wraps, body side moldings, and emblems on plastic bumpers.

• Industrial: Bonding to powder-coated metal enclosures and machine parts.

• Construction: preparing concrete or wood surfaces for mounting tapes.

• Electronics: Securing rubber feet or seals to plastic housings (ABS/polycarbonate).

• Signage: Ensuring long-term hold for outdoor signs on textured surfaces.

Step 1: Shake Well — Shake 3M Primer 94 thoroughly before use.
Step 2: Apply a Thin Coat — Apply a thin, uniform coating to the surface using a brush, swab, pressurized flow gun,
or knurled roller — use the minimum amount needed.
Step 3: Allow to Dry — Let the primer dry thoroughly before applying tape — this usually takes about 5 minutes at
room temperature.
Step 4: Apply the Tape — Apply the 3M tape while the primer film is intact and within the recommended window.
Step 5: Ventilate — Work in a well-ventilated area and follow standard solvent-handling precautions (solvent-based
formula, flash point -20°C).
